Flood in South Sudan
Floods which began in June have been affecting the Upper Nile state in South Sudan. The flooding in Sudan has displaced over three thousand people, and at least 15 people have been reported killed.
The flooding, caused by heavy rain, has cut off roads to rural areas; preventing supplies from reaching them.
Of particular concern is the refugee camps in the area, home to over 100,000 people who had fled the internal conflicts in Sudan. The flood waters make their living conditions even more difficult, and also add further risk of disease.
