Become a Data Contributor

To participate as a Data Contributor, organizations must meet specific criteria and follow an approval process. This ensures that the provided data aligns with the Charter’s operational needs and standards.

Responsibilites

Data Contributors play a key role in disaster response by ensuring the timely availability of high-quality EO data.

Data Contributors responsibilites

  • Providing satellite imagery and metadata to support Charter activations
  • Ensuring data meets processing standards (e.g., radiometric and geometric corrections)
  • Delivering data via the Charter Operational System (COS-2) or an agreed-upon repository
  • Maintaining an operational point of contact for coordination

Registration process

  1. 01

    Application
    Please submit the registration form, together with a cover letter of the user organisation, to the Executive Secretariat, which coordinates Charter operations, at ExecutiveSecretariat@disasterscharter.org.

  2. 02

    Evaluation
    The Executive Secretariat will review the application. If the initial criteria are met, the applicant will be asked to provide sample data and metadata for further assessment.

  3. 03

    Approval
    Successful applicants will be granted approval to serve as a Charter Data Contributor.

  4. 04

    Integration
    Approved Contributors will work with the Charter to integrate their data into COS-2 for future disaster response activities.
