Flood in Peru

In March 2025, Peru experienced significant flooding as a result of intense rainfall.

The areas hit hardest included Tumbes, Piura, Cajamarca, Amazonas, Huánuco, Ancash, and Pucusana.

The influx of warm waters into the northern Peruvian sea was thought to have played a role in this event. The intense rainfall resulted in rivers overflowing, which necessitated the evacuation of residents.

Reports indicated that around 150,000 individuals had been affected by the flooding, with approximately 3,000 homes sustaining damage.
