Earthquake in China

A magnitude 6.4 earthquake hit Yangbi Yi Autonomous County in southwest China's Yunnan Province at 9:48 p.m. (Beijing Time) on May 21, 2021.

According to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), the epicenter was monitored at 25.67 degrees north latitude and 99.87 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 8 km. At least three people died and 28 were injured the media People's Daily reported. Chinese media also said that at least 192 houses collapsed and more than 20,000 people had to be evacuated from the mountainous areas.
