Flood in India
Heavy monsoon rain has triggered floods across India with around 300 people feared to be dead and up to 6 million people affected by flood waters.
Eastern and central India, in particular the states of Bihar Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat were among worst affected areas.
The severity of the floods has prompted the Prime Minister to provide additional support from the federal government.
Displaced people are continually being moved to higher ground and are being provided with food and basic shelters. The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast more rain over the coming days.
