Flood in New Zealand
Between 25 and 27 March 2026, a subtropical low-pressure system brought severe weather to New Zealand, causing significant flooding across parts of the upper North Island, particularly in Northland. Intense rainfall led to widespread road closures, flooding of homes and farmland, landslides, and the temporary isolation of several communities. States of local emergency were declared in the Far North and Whangārei districts as authorities responded to the impacts and supported affected residents.
