Flood in Kyrgyzstan

On June 27, 2025, the natural dam of Lake Takyr-Tor in Kyrgyzstan’s Chuy region burst, releasing around 450,000–500,000 cubic meters of water. The flood destroyed a bridge between Almaluu and Kebek-Biy, blocking the road and prompting the evacuation of about 950 people to temporary shelters. No casualties were reported, but significant infrastructure damage occurred, and cleanup operations are ongoing.
