Flooding in Bolivia

Heavy rainfall and flooding in Bolivia’s eastern Santa Cruz region, particularly around El Torno and nearby communities, caused the Piraí River to overflow, resulting in at least 20 reported fatalities and around two dozen people reported missing. The floods have led to significant displacement, with about 2,100 families evacuated, and have disrupted access to several towns as rescue and relief operations continue under ongoing weather alerts.
