Fire in Afghanistan

Wildfires in Afghanistan which started in the mountainous areas in Nuristan Province about 25 May 2022 burned two hundred acres of forests.

According to local sources, fires were reported to be raging in the forest of Nurgram district of Nuristan Province and spreading into the Chapa Dara district of Kunar province in the country.

This is the first time a fire of this scale has burned in the forests of eastern Nuristan province in recent decades.
