The International Charter
The International Charter aims at providing a unified system of space data acquisition and delivery to those affected by natural or man-made disasters through Authorized Users. Each agency member has committed resources to support the provisions of the Charter and thus is helping to mitigate the effects of disasters on human life and property.

Hurricane Maria has brought heavy rain and strong winds to the Dominican Republic as it continues its course through the Caribbean. The storm, now Category Two, is expected to cause flooding and damage to the east coast of the Dominican Republic.

The Charter Board meeting was held to discuss the future of space and the impact of major disasters in April.
