On 20 April a cooperation agreement was signed between the International Charter Space and Major Disasters and the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (Copernicus EMS) associating efforts to access satellite data and derived information products showing the impact of large disasters in the world.

The agreement, signed at the 39th Charter Executive Secretariat and Board Meeting in Darmstadt, ratified existing links between the two organisations, who both provide key satellite data to support disaster response.
