Flood in Nepal
Nepal experienced continuous rainfall on 30 June, which submerged nearly 2,000 houses in Kailali district. Heavy machinery was deployed to drain water that had accumulated in several areas.
In the Dhangadhi area, Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 13 were the most affected. Residents expressed growing concern that the flooding in Dhangadhi was caused by inadequate drainage systems, further worsened by the encroachment of streams and canals.
On 1 July, the Association for Civil Aviation Operations signed an agreement to mobilise private helicopters for rescue and relief efforts during the monsoon season. Several families were rescued and relocated to safer areas. As rainfall eased by the afternoon, daily life gradually began to return to normal.
