Torrential rain has caused widespread flooding in Iraq. Thousands of people have been forced to evacuate their homes.

A state of emergency has been declared due to the damage caused and large area affected.

Basra province has particularly been affected by the floods, where an estimated 40,000 acres of crops have been flooded.

The Tigris River has reached its peak, with some provinces experiencing flooding where the river has overflowed.
