Fire in Russian Federation
A forest fire occurred on 7 August 2022 in the Ryazan Region, Russia Federation. A second fire broke out a day later with the area engulfed by the flames and was reported to be expanding.
A state of emergency was put into effect in the Klepikovsky, Ryazansky and Spassky districts of the Ryazan Region, about 8,600 hectares, with 146 hectares of the area reported to be burning. Residents of Olgino and Golovanovo were ordered to evacuate.
