Typhoon Bavi in the Philippines

Super Typhoon Bavi (locally named Inday in the Philippines) brought strong winds, heavy rainfall, and rough seas as it passed through the Philippine Area of Responsibility in July. The storm intensified over the western Pacific, reaching super typhoon strength before weakening as it moved away.

The main areas placed on alert were Northern Luzon, particularly Cagayan Province and Batanes, where authorities prepared for flooding, landslides, and coastal hazards. Sea travel restrictions were also imposed in some areas, including parts of Catanduanes, due to dangerous conditions. Although Bavi did not make direct landfall in the Philippines, its outer effects contributed to heavy rain and increased risks of flooding and landslides, prompting emergency preparations and monitoring across affected regions.
