Earthquake in Myanmar
On 28 March, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar, with the epicentre located approximately 10 miles northwest of Sagaing.
The quake caused extensive structural damage, leaving numerous buildings compromised. Road surfaces in the capital, Naypyidaw, were reported to have warped and become uneven. In Mandalay, airport travelers were evacuated to the tarmac as aircraft shook during the tremors.
A high-rise building under construction collapsed, leaving 70 construction workers missing. The death toll remained unconfirmed at the time of reporting.
Strong tremors were also felt in neighboring countries, including Thailand and China.
