42nd Meeting of the International Charter 'Space and Major Disasters'

The 42nd Charter meeting was held in Saint Petersburg (Russia) on October 7-11, 2019, hosted by the Russian State Space Corporation 'ROSCOSMOS', which has taken the role of the Charter lead agency for the next 6-month period from October 2019 to April 2020.

The meeting started with the Charter Communication group session during which there were discussions on further promotion of the Charter. This session was followed by the Charter Emergency On-Call Users meeting, where the ECO role and outcomes of the latest ECO training were discussed.

The next session was the Charter Executive Secretariat meeting with discussions on the ongoing enhancements to operational processes.

The 42nd Charter meeting was concluded with the Board meeting during which the strategic plan for further Charter development was discussed.

This meeting allowed the Charter members to discuss the current status of the Charter activities as well as explore perspectives of its further development in order to continuously support the natural and man-made disaster management with rapid Earth Observation data provision.

42nd Charter meeting
