Floods in Indonesia

Violent rain caused flooding and landslides on 25 December in the provinces of Aceh and North Sumatra in Indonesia, forcing some 70,000 people to flee their villages. Local authorities report that about 80 have died. Roads between Bireuen and Bener Meriah and Kuala Simpang, Aceh Tamiang, were cut off. About 160 villages were affected.
