Flood in South Africa
South Africa has been struck by a devastating storm system that has brought severe flooding and unexpected snowfall, primarily affecting the Eastern Cape around Mthatha. Torrential rains have caused rivers to overflow, sweeping away homes, vehicles, and a school bus—resulting in at least 78 deaths, including multiple children.
At the same time, a powerful cold front has brought heavy snow and icy conditions to parts of the Eastern Cape, Free State, and KwaZulu-Natal, leading to road closures and widespread power outages. schools, clinics, and infrastructure have been severely damaged, and recovery efforts are ongoing.
