Flood in Congo (Democratic Republic Of The)

Heavy rains triggered severe flooding in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, resulting in the loss of approximately 30 lives and causing significant damage to homes and infrastructure.

In response, residents made efforts to reach safety, using various means such as wading through the water, swimming, or navigating makeshift canoes.

Kinshasa, a city of 17 million people, is situated along the Congo River—one of the largest rivers in the world, spanning the breadth of the country.
